Child Safety Policy

At LevelApp, we are committed to providing a safe, supportive, and respectful learning environment for every child. This Child Safety Policy outlines the standards, responsibilities, and processes we follow to protect the children and young learners who engage with our one-to-one tutoring services.


1. Scope and Purpose

This policy applies to all LevelApp staff, trainers, contractors, volunteers, and anyone involved in delivering services to students under the age of 18. It is designed to:

  • Promote a culture of child safety and well-being.
  • Prevent and respond to any abuse, harm, or risk to a child.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable child protection laws and educational standards.

2. Definitions

  • Child/Minor: Any individual under the age of 18.
  • Child Abuse: Includes physical abuse, emotional abuse, sexual abuse, neglect, or any behaviour that endangers a child’s health, development, or dignity.
  • Child Safety: Actions, policies, and procedures intended to protect children from harm.

3. Our Commitment

We commit to:

  • Providing a safe digital learning environment for all sessions.
  • Recruiting only verified and background-checked trainers.
  • Responding promptly and seriously to any concern or complaint involving a child’s safety.
  • Respecting children’s rights to express concerns without fear of reprisal.
  • Training all staff and trainers on appropriate conduct, safeguarding protocols, and incident reporting.

4. Trainer and Staff Obligations

All individuals working with LevelApp must:

  • Treat every child with respect, dignity, and professionalism.
  • Avoid any physical contact, private messaging, or interaction with a student outside the scope of assigned sessions or official platforms.
  • Never engage in or tolerate inappropriate jokes, gestures, comments, or behaviour.
  • Avoid one-on-one communication with minors outside of approved platforms. All communication must be transparent and preferably accessible to parents.
  • Immediately report any concern, suspicion, or incident involving child safety to LevelApp’s Child Safety Officer or designated point of contact.

5. Online Session Conduct

  • All sessions must be conducted via approved platforms that allow monitoring and logging.
  • Recording of sessions, where permitted by law and policy, is to ensure transparency and review.
  • A parent or guardian is encouraged to be present or aware of session timings and content.

6. Reporting and Escalation

  • Any suspicion, complaint, or report related to child abuse or misconduct must be reported immediately to our Child Protection Lead at support@levelapp.in
  • All reports will be treated confidentially and investigated promptly, with appropriate action taken based on findings.
  • Where necessary, LevelApp may notify relevant legal authorities, in compliance with child protection legislation.

7. Parental Involvement

We encourage active parental participation and communication. Parents/guardians may:

  • Request session reports, feedback, and progress updates.
  • Be present during sessions or request access to session recordings, if applicable.
  • Report concerns or feedback at any time to [insert contact email].

8. Recruitment and Screening

All trainers and relevant staff must undergo:

  • Identity verification and interview screening.
  • Reference checks from previous educational or professional engagements.
  • Background checks, including police verification as required by law.
  • Training on child protection protocols before onboarding.

9. Policy Review and Updates

This policy is reviewed annually, or more frequently if required by law or internal audit. Updates will be published on our website and communicated to stakeholders.
